We’ve had some technical difficulties…
So the last batch of hatchets and bowie knives came with some technical difficulties… The metal was not heat treated enough which made it too soft. It’ll still cut and you will have no problem sharpening it up (since the metal is soft). But do not go using the bowie as a hatchet of a machete… As for the hatchets, well it appears that using rosewood for the handles was a poor choice as the wood isn’t strong enough to endure the vibrations caused by chopping wood. The blades however appear to keep in good condition, so the temper on them seems to by just right.
I hope this article doesn’t push you away from purchasing a blade from us, but I believe in 100% transparency. For you customers that own a bowie knife and have any failures in the metal, or hatchet owners that have a failure of the handle, please contact us for a free replacement (which at the time of this article is about to be ordered).
